movie: Silent Hill Revelation, not 3D

silent hill

Description from IMDB:  “When her father disappears, Heather Mason is drawn into a strange and terrifying alternate reality that holds answers to the horrific nightmares that have plagued her since childhood.”

This movie was not the greatest. I didn’t expect it to be. I didn’t expect cinematic art, but I did hope it would be better. I was actually pretty excited to see it, despite my meh feelings about the Silent Hill franchise in general.

This installment features Heather, the same character as in the video game Silent Hill 3. The actress who plays her really looks the part. The acting was not so great. One of the other primary characters was played by Kit Harrington, who is Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. He makes up for her shortcomings a little bit. He also looks like a completely different person with no facial hair. It’s bizarre.

Anyway, the writing was okay. The Silent Hill people do a pretty good job with the story, the cult and mythology, etc. The visuals were quite creative, which is always a plus.

Not a great movie but not the worst. It’s worth a watch if you don’t have anything else to do. Silent Hill Revelation gets a C+.

So, what’s the worst movie?

She replies with no hesitation, “Hobo with a Shotgun. Worst. Movie. Ever.”

  1. Hobo With a Shotgun? That sounds like it should be so bad, it’s great.
