Podcast Updates

I just have a couple of podcast updates for today.

Authors Read has a few new episodes, so be sure to check those out. Link

I am pretty much always looking for authors to feature so if you’re an author looking for some free publicity or if you know someone, please check out the page. I can only create new episodes when I have authors to feature, and I haven’t gotten many submissions lately.

And now for notes on the Dark Dreams and Troubled Souls podcast. I can provide the following updates on that bad boy.

  1. Theme music has been selected
  2. Episode 0 script is written
  3. Podcast Year 1 will have 14 episodes not counting episode 0

This week, I’ll work on the cover art, which will just be a modified version of the book covers. Also on the to-do list is the favicon and podcast description. Fun fun fun!

Audiobook updates

Yeah, yeah, I know this isn’t a podcast update but whatever. It’s my blog. I do what I want.

I have submitted audio files to ACX for a nonfiction project, which I will not name here because I like to compartmentalize. Why is this a big deal? This is actually a huge deal because once I finish my back and forth with ACX (and I am 90% sure there will be one. I’m ready for it.), I will officially be audiobook operational.

Unfortunately, I did have to ditch my whole last round of recording for Beneath Oceans of Sky because I still wasn’t happy with the level of reverb. I changed my microphone isolation setup in the sound booth and fixed it.

What does this mean for the Beneath Oceans of Sky audiobook? Honestly, I have no idea. After so many rounds of recording and edits, I can’t stand to look at it right now.

That burnout, however, does not apply to other audiobook projects. The DDTS podcast will end up as part of the audiobook series when it’s done, so that’s kind of a kill-2-birds project. In a fantastic dream world, I’d also finish the audiobook for Wild Spirits of the Hollow by the end of the year. In my wildest super productivity fantasies, I’d also finish the Love and the Dark audiobook by the end of the year.

*checks calendar*

I don’t know. First comes the battle with the ACX tech people. Please believe that I am quite ready to be the boomerang that won’t leave them alone. Being annoying is my superpower. #bringit

Until then, please be sure to check out the Dark Dreams and Troubled Souls book series on Amazon. Book 1 is available. Books 2 and 3 are up for preorder.
